Play Rangers
Puriton Parish Council has very kindly funded us to deliver Play Ranger sessions from the land adjacent to your village hall. These are open access play sessions for children aged 5-18. Children are encouraged to attend without an accompanying adult but parents should be clear that their children remain their responsibility whilst at a Play ranger sessions. However, two members of Barnardo’s staff will be present at all sessions, they are trained playworkers, with full CRB checks and first aid knowledge. Barnardo’s has run Play ranger projects across Somerset for 4 years and they have been hugely popular with children who enjoy the play resources we bring and the fun, messy and creative environment that is created.
Sessions will run from 3.30-5pm every week. The sessions will start on Wed 16th May and will run initially until the school summer holidays start. They will recommence in September running until the end of October 2012. If anyone requires further info they can call Michael Hammond on 07584 347291.

Faster Broadband
If we are to look forward to faster Broadband in Somerset it is important that as many people as possible (not only Councillors) complete the questionnaire to be found at www.connectingdevonandsomerset.co.uk where you will also find full details of the project and at the same time check your broadband speed. Please don’t think ‘I can manage with what I have, remember some businesses in the remoter parts of the County are already having to move out of the area to get faster broadband which in time will effect the economy of the County.
