Sunshine Pre-School Group

We are a thriving and popular pre-school that has been based in the village for over thirty years, providing education and care for young children below school age in and around the rural village of Puriton.

We accept children aged from 2 years and 6 months, until they start school.  We are OFSTED registered complying with EYFS requirements.

Our curriculum is delivered through a wide range of activities.  These are designed to enable children to progress at their own pace towards the Early Learning Goals in a safe, stimulating and supported environment.

Our regular activities include sand and water play, creative role play, a range of art and craft activities, songs, stories, indoor and outdoor games, computer skills and a quiet book corner for when it all gets too much!

The Pre-School goes from strength to strength, and we are proud to hold a very important role in the community of Puriton. With a successful OFSTED Report at the end of 2007 year, our reputation definitely goes before us, and for the first time we seem to be heading towards needing a waiting list.

Following on from the climbing play centre (right) which went in last year, we also installed a toy train and picnic table (below). It is on specially designed soft standing which is, of course, weather resistant and designed to aid the development of young children. We think it looks great too - a real asset for the village.








Of course, we always welcome new children and invite any parents of toddlers approaching their third birthday to contact us to discuss booking their place.

We are open during term time at the times indicated below
Monday 09.30 - 12.00
Tuesday 09.30 - 12.00
Wednesday 09.30 - 12.00
Thursday 09.30 - 12.00
Friday 09.30 - 12.00






We operate a Lunch Session from 12.00 - 12.45 every day.

Session fees are currently £2.60 per hour.  You are welcome to use your Nursery Education Grants for sessions

09.30 - 09.45   Parents/carer drop off
09.45 - 10.15   Circle time
10.15 - 10.30   Free play
10.30 - 10.50   Handwashing/snack time
10.50 - 11.35   Outside/free play
11.35 - 12.00   Tidy up.  Story/songtime
12.00   Home time/lunch time
